Its all about the ratings with Trump.
He says stupid crap in the briefings to fire up the worshippers and those that hate him.
The President of the United States is comparing his ratings to the Bachelor. (what were the ratings of Monday Night Football this week???)

The Wall Street Journal always “forgets” to mention that the ratings for the White House Press Briefings are “through the roof” (Monday Night Football, Bachelor Finale, according to @nytimes) & is only way for me to escape the Fake News & get my views across. WSJ is Fake News!

OMG he seeks out the media and they are all "fake news" in his book.
He wants them. He loves the stupid banter and lives to insult somebody.
Nobody respects the media--he doesn't have to stand there and insult them under the guise of being some hero delivering news about the virus.

He knows his core followers believe every thing his says and he just wants to keep them fired up.
