I've tried, or maybe I haven't. I believe in God, Jesus, etc. But I was raised in a devout/strict Catholic family and it soured me. To be honest I have held onto the belief, mainly through my adult years, that since it was forced upon me through childhood and teen years that I HAD to do this, HAD to believe that, that it made me not want to be involved. Again, I believe, but it's just not something I have ever felt like I "needed" or had to have in my life to get by. When i go to church (mostly on holidays) I really don't get anything out of it. Maybe that's my fault, maybe it's the fault of my parents. I don't know, maybe it's just me...

I urge you to not put faith in a church, or your parents views or how you was raised or how a church made you feel bro. It’s about a personal relationship with just you and Jesus. Read the word for yourself, God will speak to you, pray to Jesus on your own, and live the word and have faith and he will open your ears and begin to speak to you. He loves you. John 3:16 is not just a religious statement, it’s the truth!
