We saw something like that at the Kentucky Castle a few years ago. They were in the shrubs along the road to the castle. Must have been thousands of them - looked like you had put Christmas lights on the shrubs. People there said it happens annually but timing depends on temps, soil moisture and other factors. I believe it was around June

Beautiful to see. Reminds me of warm summer evenings as a child runnng through the fields with a mason jar. Those little things we took for granted seem to be sentimental memories as you age.
