Compared to the likes of Deion Sanders

Just looking at Freshman stats, it is hard to make a determination. Sanders is a legendary figure so that is a tall task but I do believe he is close to that.

Lets look at stats, though comparing any one year, freshman in particular, is dicey at best.

Sanders
30 PR 255 Yds 8.5 YPA 1 TD
1 INT 100yds 1 TD

Stingley
17 PR 163 Yds 9.6 YPA 0 TDs
6 INT 17 Yds 2.8 YPI 0 TD
1 FR

Sanders had 14 INTs his 4 years at FSU. Sanders also scored 6 TD, 3 on Picks, 3 on punt returns. He had an astounding 126 punt returns for 1,429 yards in his time at FSU. I think the big thing about Sanders initially was that he was a multi sport athlete who also played baseball and ran track at FSU at a very high level.

Being a top level multi sport athlete who legitimately competed at every level will always place guys like Deion and Bo, rightly or wrongly, on a different level with single sport athletes when comparing who is "the best athlete"

No doubt Sanders gets the nod as a multi-sport athlete. But as a DB or even a football player, I give it to Sting.

I would say Sanders was a track guy playing football and baseball.

Sting IMO, is a Football player who maybe could run track. I have no idea about Sting and baseball.
