Probably not to that extent. They were the energy sector of 2020 in 2008. The shitty consequences just might shift from one industry to another though.

Many banks will take a hit if huge numbers of small businesses and consumers fold. People that have a household income of 60k have mortgages, auto loans and credit cards in most of the country.
