My wife and I used this online class called Taking Cara Babies.. the most useful thing we learned was SITBACK. It's an acronym. It's a means of intervention but also allows them to learn to self sooth. Wait 2 minutes per step and do this until baby calms down. If she then cries again, start over.

Sit (wait 5 minutes)
Increase volume (white noise, shushing)
Touch (touch their back)
Binky
Add in movement (rock baby gently in their crib)
CRIES - another acronym, basically pick up baby and rock her in your arms
K, it's time to eat

Couple of weeks with this and a strong routine at naptime and bedtime and mine turned into a sleep champion.

We’ve got a two week old, and she basically cries when she’s hungry, wet diaper, gassy, or sleepy. It’s just a matter of figuring out which it is, and solvin it, and then getting 2-4 hrs of quiet time

We are about to start a routine from the ‘Moms on call’ book. Neighbors rave about it and how their kids were sleeping through the night at like 4 weeks
