I saw it mentioned in the Military Army Channel YouTube that the FDE on the Sig doesnt hold up well at all. He showed the color coming off.
Can confirm. I carried one overseas during the 256th's recent mobilization. I bought the commemorative pistol anyway.

Oh that is sort of disappointing. I always have held Sig in high regards as one of the top pistol manufacturers for quality.

To be fair though, I suspect we are a little harder on them than the average buyer. Additionally, I suspect that the Safariland holsters contributed to the wear.

I'm not a weekend warrior running drills and doing "qualifiers" or anything. Just want something to put an optic on and learn more about that world with (a starter for that world). (knock on wood but I've never dropped a pistol or anything like that), I just saw a bunch of articles about the law suits and shite so I wasn't sure if that was supposed to have been rectified with the m18.

I read your post wrong. I actually carried the M17, not the M18. However, they are similar. I believe all of the misfire issues have been resolved.

Sorry I should have mentioned m17 and m18 together as they are fairly similar and both I think (at least read) had military contracts (not that that matters). I was more wanting to ask (as I'm more trusting of people here than youtube reviewers or Sig itself) about misfire issues. At least in the event that some of y'all have owned the m17 or m18. Thank you brother.

The ole 256th... one stop I'm glad i haven't had.

Unless you're MI then yeah, the M17 is standard. And that's not saying your MI guys had the M18, i can only say what we have/had.

I have both, M17 and M18. The 17 has a Leupold Delta point pro. Both are excellent.

Thanks for the feedback. It definitely is a nice looking gun and the safety is where I like them. You like the Delta Point Pro? Like I said I'm new to pistol optics but I'm guessing you want the optic's dot and actual iron sights to line up right?

My DPP is not co-witnessed with iron sights yet but it will be soon. Only two optics can be mounted on these two guns without an adapter plate, the DPP and the Sig Romeo 1 pro and the Leupold is the clear winner there when you view them side by side. A lot of people like the el cheapo holosun and have kind of a groupy fanboy feel to it but it's not the same quality.

Oh you're right. I completely forgot that its not pre-drilled so it mounts on the plate. Def something to remember that is important lol. Good to know about the brands though.

The trigicon is also an option but it's pricey and also requires an adapter plate. I have it on another weapon and to be honest I like the DPP better. The batteries are easier to load and it has a wider field of view
