re: Any Recommendations for Non-Traditional (Non-Tourist) Caribbean Destinations?

Just making you aware that late May is the start off the offseason in the Caribbean. Hurricane season starts June 1st. Travel and the amount of tourists scales back a bit, and there’s more of a threat of storms. I lived on St Croix (USVI) for a year and I can remember things being dead starting in late May, lots of restaurants cut back hours and nights they opened.
