Same argument could be made AGAINST the tradition.

If the players want to keep doing it, fine. Let them. It’s just my personal opinion that bestowing a number on a player just gives fans an excuse to shite on them anytime they’re less than perfect because some dumb number demands perfection.

We saw it with Chark, Giles, and then Delpit—posts about how they “don’t deserve it.” I’d rather these players leave their own legacy and not have to measure up to what a number says they have to be.

Fans will shite on any player for being less than perfect, regardless of the number. Either way, that’s the fans problem, not the players and shouldn’t have any influence on players keeping a tradition they started.

No it can’t. Know why? They players in college are teenagers. Act like a man, use reasoning and don’t use a number as an excuse to bash a kid. Drops mic
