I feel ya bro. They walked in on the company I had worked for right at 22 years, told us to get out, they were bankrupt. We had no idea. Pretty large company too. We were self insured, so my wife and 3 kids had no insurance, no severance pkg. last paycheck bounced, and they were stealing our 401k money. Oh, did I tell you we just sold our house, and we’re due to close the next day on the new one? Oh yeah, mortgage co found out and told us to frick off. Everything I owned was in a moving truck, and nowhere to put it. Had to drive it to a hotel for a couple of days while I found a new job.
That being said, 3 months later we did move in to the house, changed jobs again shortly thereafter, and I am doing better than ever. That was 11 years ago.
