Dinardo would run the players into the ground. Legs werent strong come 4th quarter. When the interim coach took over for the bowl game against ND, he rested their legs. Players stated at the time that it was the difference in the game. Gotta have those legs fresh come gametime.

Dinardo was the coach for the bowl game. Are you talking about the 1999 game against Arkansas?

There was no interim coach for the bowl game. Hal Hunter was the interim against Arkansas and LSU destroyed them and they were a top 25 team at the time. You can bet Saban watched film on that game and saw the potential with the roster.
