Well another reason you don't want to move the stadium to Hammond (as an example) is that New Orleans needs the Saints tourism. It would be so cruel to the shopowners, hoteliers, and restauranteurs to have the stadium build more than 3 miles outside of downtown.
One final thought: It's not necessarily a BAD thing that the Superdome is the 5th oldest stadium. I think it's a testament to the brilliance of the architects, planners, etc. that the Superdome is still debatable as a legitimate NFL venue.

i think hammond is abit far, but NO east is definitely close enough to downtown

it might be the only thing that keeps the saints here.
the saints lose out on ALOT of regional support b/c of its location. i think theonly way they can achieve long term success is by becomingmore regional
