CFB has no parity. There’s 6-8 programs that realistically have a chance to win rings often. There’s another maybe 6 that have a chance less often. Then there’s maybe 12-15 that have a sliver of a chance but not really. The rest are irrelevant and under the current system, always will be. They have no path to relevance. Being a fan of those programs is legitimately a waste of time unless it’s your alma mater.

A larger playoff won’t make it easy for parity to happen, but it definitely makes it easier than it is now. If teams outside of those top 10-12 teams are occasionally getting a shot at the big shots, they will also occasionally get a shot at real national relevance and can maybe forge an actual path to being a relevant program long term

I’ll also add that most fans are in denial of this or have no interest in changing it because they benefit. LSU fans, Bama fans, OSU fans, OU fans, etc, we all benefit from this system and are OK with it for that reason

And if you expand the playoffs to 6-8 teams, that means those same 6-8 programs will get in just about every single year. Congratulations...you've just made the problem worse and made it easier for a 10-2 Alabama team to backdoor their way into a national championship trophy.
