He needs to go where the money is the biggest.

All pro sports are about the money. Why should he care what team writes the biggest check? (A bigger market like New York might give him more endorsement opportunities.)

The second contract is the huge check.
He has to get there and still be perceived as worth it.

Pro athletes are pieces of talented meat. They are like racehorses.

Every one of them should understand that when signing their first contract. Some of them will play for 4 or 5 teams.

Get the money--their careers can be very short.

Eli was smart to go to New York and Joe should do whatever it takes to get the buck. If he can personally make more money in another organization he should do it.

I hope you understand that regardless of the team that picks him, his first contract is based purely on the slot he is taken in.
