And that likely would have somewhat continued even with Brees if Benson wouldn't have eventually became a billionaire and started to actually care about the Saints winning, and not just about maximizing his profits.
The change with the Saints has more to do with Benson becoming filthy rich than anything else, and that's why the Bengals aren't going to change b/c they have a cheap owner.
Benson was considered one of the worst owners in all of sports, then he became a billionaire, and his legacy as a owner completely turned around.
