Good write up as usual.
We all know that LSU has been pretty bad defensively. But if there is one game (maybe two if you include the 2nd game vs. Ole Miss) LSU played pretty well defensively it was against Bama. Not surprisingly, it was tied for their largest margin of victory in SEC play (funny how that works).
Taylor really smothered Petty. I wonder if Wade will consider starting Taylor this game for that reason alone (of course, Days has been playing great over the last two games so it might be hard to leave him on the bench). If there was ever a team LSU just needs to flat out try to bully inside, this is it.
One big key from the 1st game is that Bama attempted only 10 FT's while LSU went 19/20 from the line. If Bama is scoring, it is either from the FT line or the 3 point line. I think the refs are going to be big here. If Bama is getting to the line a lot this game, then I don't love LSU's chances. If not, I think LSU's energy on the glass could be the difference again (20 to 5 advantage in 2nd chance points the first go round)

This! Similar to a football game where you can just impose your will, playing the bully in basketball and getting to the goal and rebounding at will, wears down opponents physically and mentally. If they can wear down bama then that effects their shooting consistency. Also, if LSU can get early fouls on them by driving to the basket, then you can take their shooters out of rhythm by having to spend more time spurts on the bench than what they typically would.
