Personally I think the odds of our new DC coming in and running a 3-4 are low. I’m sure Aranda has recruited for this defense, so will we be thin on the line for a few years? Does that influence our DC search to try to get one who runs this style D?

Why is that? Our personnel is fit for an odd front. People get too caught up in 4-3 or 3-4.
In an age of 10 and 11 personnel you rarely see 3 linebackers on the field. The odd front allows more flexibility and disguised pressure.

what I mean by that is that there aren’t many prototypical Defensive ends on the roster that I can think of.

Personally I prefer the 4-3 because I saw Lawrence and Logan who are prototypical DT playing contain far too often when that linebacker is dropped back in coverage
