No body was stopping LSU this season. The point is, one of the best DCs in the country and a 4-3 guy, felt a 3 man front was the most effective way to stop the best offense in the country.
Also, for most of the game it was a 3-2-6 with Simmons and Skalski at LB. They also had a S that was playing a Jacoby Steven style hybrid role at times, making it close to a 3-3-5 stack.
