Just attempt to explain how that’s cherry-picking? Yards per attempt/completion are the equalizer in passing stats.

300 yards on 30 attempts > 300 yards on 50 attempts

Do you not agree?

Yards per attempt is a valid metric, but it is one data point.

Cherry picking:

quote:

Cherry picking, suppressing evidence, or the fallacy of incomplete evidence is the act of pointing to individual cases or data that seem to confirm a particular position while ignoring a significant portion of related cases or data that may contradict that position.

Other related data:

1) TD-to-Int ration
2) Completion Percentage
3) Performance against like competition
4) Performance vs. Top Competition

If one offense is running a play-action based passing attack while the other is running a straight dropback with some RPO worked in then the same QB will have higher yards/attempt and yards/completion in the former than the latter.

Enjoy observing the difference between 2018 Tua and 2019 Joe on Monday
