I deal with labor unions all the time in my law practice. As with other groups, there are good unions and bad unions.

A good union wants to be rid of the slackers and unsafe employees as much as the employer does.

The entertainment unions provide members with fantastic benefits. I have a friend who is a SAG member who would have succumbed to cancer years ago but for the fantastic health insurance coverage that SAG members have.
