You base this opinion on your Uncle telling you his side of the story. Maybe your Uncle is a lazy or lying POS and misrepresented his side of the issue to you all.

That would mean the Union forced his employer to take back a POS.

Unions are more worried about their own survival than the well-being of the workers they are supposed to represent. And (almost without historical exception) just about all Unions could give zero fricks about the health and viability of the firms that their members work for.
