My brother goes there now and the bar scene is awesome for a small college town. Dickson street is basically on campus and has more variety in bars than most college campuses. There's a bar called Shots that has 100 different shot flavors served in ice shot glasses which you spike on the ground when youre done, a fun piano bar like Pat O's, multiple cocktail rooftop bars, solid music venues, and your typical Reggies style bars for underclassmen.

LSU is definitely a bigger party school and the bars arent as big, but for someone visiting from out of town, there's plenty of options for nice bars that arent your typical college bars.

If you want to be around Dickson and walking distance to campus then I would get an Airbnb. That's what we do when we're in town.
