Brennan is 42/70 = 60% completion rate...
2 TDs & 3 INTs
all in garbage time...
While its encouraging, he hasn't "proven" anything to the fan base or football experts/qualified analysts during his time at LSU...however, he may have shown the staff all they need to see already from a comfort level in his abilities...but, we as fans don't know what the staff thinks of him as "proven or not"...
He has been loyal in learning the offense and not transferring....
We will see what the staff does on NSD...(does or does not leave a spot open)
If we (eventually, after NSD) sign a Grad Transfer with significant, meaningful snaps when games were on the line...the staff wants someone to challenge Brennan or serve as an experienced back-up in case Brennan goes down...Parish will be a redshirt freshman - the staff may not want the remainder of the season's W-L ratio in the hands of a redshirt freshman if Brennan goes down...
So, its not just about if the staff has confidence in Brennan, its also about confidence in Parish as well...two true freshmen don't even come into the picture even though they will practice in the Spring as EEs...this offense is too complicated for true freshmen to execute, even with adding a spring to a fall...
And, it may be seen as too complex by the staff for Parish to execute at a high degree of efficiency with two falls and a spring in practice time...
If the staff takes a Grad Transfer, it won't be D King from U of H, as he is not immediately eligible and won't do LSU any good in 2020, as he has not earned his diploma from U of Houston.
However, KJ Costello of Stanford is a Grad Transfer & thus, immediately eligible, 24 starts, 495/791=62.65%, 49 TDs, 18 INTs
KJ Costello
ESPN Stats on Costello
NCAA Stats on Costello
Costello probably wants to start somewhere, but no team worth a shite is going to guarantee him to start...I think it would be a great 1 year back-up plan, if Brennan won't transfer...if Costello can't enroll in the Spring, but still want's to compete, Brennan will not transfer...regardless of all...its a long-shot....
Costello is the best Grad Transfer in the portal right now...that suits LSU's need for someone with significant, quality starts...

I think if we take a grad transfer that won't be announced until well after NSD. in fact, it may not be announced until after spring practice is complete or may be in response to spring practice.

KJ Costello of Stanford
living on the west coast, i've seen Costello and when healthy, looks like a really good QB. his problem is staying healthy. so, taking Costello would be an injury risk.
