Next time I will probably just start out with the 3 or 4" pots.

It takes up a lot more room initially. That's the downside. If you have a lot of plants, you need a lot more lighting.

Yeah, that's why I started smaller. This season will determine how I go from here. I am trying out some 20 gallon grow bags for potatoes and tomatoes. I am also going to try some 20 gallon wicking tubs for tomatoes and possibly some cucumbers. Growing cucumbers out of a 55 gallon drum looks really interesting as well but I don't think it would work in our heat outside.

Starts look great Pillage. I'm a couple of weeks behind you, but just potted up all of my tomatoes and peppers over the last couple of days. Also started some zucchini and cucumbers.

My tomato starts don't look the best, but once I get them out of that Orta seed starter they normally take off. The Orta starters are really excellent from a convenience standpoint, but IMO they keep the soil a bit too wet. It's fine for a while but they definitely show it when they need to be potted up.

I have another question, are any of you using a little fan in your grow room to stimulate stronger plants? I have a little clip on fan that I am thinking of trying. I am just wondering if it matters either way.
