It’s called Cognitive Dissonance, and applies to all people in many situations:
It’s common with liberals because they are constantly faced with logical thinking vs their irrational nonsense.
It happens with conservatives too when you try to explain to them why the free market is better than government. Especially to boomer conservatives.
