To be honest we’re not really gonna reap the benefits of our accomplishments this season until next recruiting class

This!!
Clemson was getting like 9-10th ranked classes for years, then after their natty 3 years ago they moved into top 5 after their beat down of Bama their now #1.

Big time recruits have a realistic dream of the NFL. They are looking for a place that is going to help them best achieve that. Coaching, scheme, exposure surrounding talent and playing time. The college experience is important but probably secondary.

Not even just big time recruits. Most of those kids on Last Chance U thought they were going to the league as well. I will never criticize lofty goals and dreams but you’re talking about kids who are barely good enough to play for SELA

Have you ever considered that other programs have good recruiters too ? If a kid chooses another school it doesn’t automatically mean he was bought.

That’s why it takes more than one successful season. If it were an auburn type of flop after cam left or FSU after Winston, then the recruits will see it before NSD. It’s crucial that we succeed next year. There’s been too many flash in the pan teams to make a program shift like Alabama and Clemson.

It wouldn’t take quite as much for us because we already recruit well. Next season being a success would put us in that tip top category, though.

Really not worried about it
For every recruit that backs out, another chance to find another diamond in the rough like Justin Jefferson or Cushenberry. LSU is never going to have a problem finding 25 kids a year that want to be Tigers!
For every 5 star you miss, it's that impact 3/4 star guy that can make or break a class.
