My point is he knew before the whistle even blew Harden dunked a ball through a basket and didn't get 2 points. He also knows there's a 30 second timer.

Don't waste time arguing with the ref, just challenge the fact that you didn't get 2 points for the dunked ball that went through the hoop.

I get all that. But it also seems like a pretty easy case of "What? He scored." "Yeah, we better take a look at it." and that's that.

Why didn't THAT happen? They look at worse crap than that all the time.

My point is... it seems like he shouldn't have had to challenge. But, at the same time, he should have challenged and, well, it's Houston and James Harden. so.. HA!

Oh, i'm not absolving the refs at all here.

I'm just pointing out that D'antoni had a path this one reviewed and overturned and more than likely was just so mad that he initially forgot he could challenge and missed the window. And the idea that he was discussing to get clarification of the call and that took up his 30 second window I'm just not buying. He knew the ball went through, he knew he didn't get 2 points, call the challenge right away, get your 2 points back. All is well.
