Defense obviously has work to do. To me it's more of a consistency issue than scheme and such. At times, we absolutely shut teams down. Almost every game has stretches where the defense played lights out.

It's almost like the defense isn't mentally prepared all game. Past years with the slow ball control inconsistent offenses that we had the team had to rely on the defense to win games, now with a high powered offense the defense gets sloppy.

The difference between a 3 minute TD drive and a 3 and out is the TD. Mentally it's not on the defense to win the game, just to slow them down enough to keep the lead. But every game we either get a big lead then the defense gets sloppy and let's the other team back in the game, or the defense starts out sloppy then adjusts and shuts the opponent down the rest of the game.

I'd love to see us dominate all game just like everyone else, but I see enough good from this defense to be confident that they will step up when needed and the team can get it done.
