It’s really so simple. We have NFL players. You can break it down position by position and find nfl guys. Delpit, Stevens, Fulton, Stingley, Phillips, Chaisson, Lawrence. Those are just the obvious ones right now, the athleticism is there for 8-10 more guys. Problem is Chaisson should be a 4-3 DE and Lawrence should be a 4-3 DT. We lack another outside rusher. We have 3 guys weighing over 290 pounds in on 90% of plays. Simply put: they won’t get a consistent pass rush and a fast QB like Plumlee will humiliate them.

That’s where as a DC you have to figure it out. When we blitzed 5 or more against Plumlee he did absolutely nothing. Instead, we are running this read and react defense and we are soft as Hell. We have to get back to blitzing 5-6 players often. Aranda loves to do his MLB blitz while dropping Chaisson...it’s awful. We don’t have the DL to get pressure without blitzing. Why a 2.5 million dollar DC doesn’t know how to get pressure is beyond me. We have an offense that if you give up a big play on defense they can cover you. We should strive to create turnovers and force negative plays. Instead Aranda is soft and the defense takes after him mentally.

Wait this can't be true, I've read 30 times on here since Sunday that we "just don't have the horses" or "NO defensive coordinator in the country could do more with these players"...

As ususal, I believe the problem lies somewhere in between. We have talent and Aranda is not a bad coach. Aranda has strengths and weaknesses and some teams/matchups highlight that.
