re: Defense - I'm going to keep it real simple

Complacency is the problem. Look at the first halves against Texas, Alabama, Ole Miss, and even Vanderbilt. All dominant defensive performances. OM and Vandy were really never in doubt.
Let's look at Texas. Do we win that game without the back to back goal lines stands by the D in the first half? Do we beat Alabama without Phillips snagging that interception setting up a late 1st half TD?
We all need to accept that our D will not have the statistical numbers we are accustomed to, but they do a great job at setting the tone early in games. And they're capable of playing good 2nd halves when needed a la Florida and Auburn.
