Those completion percentage numbers are shocking. The rules and modern offenses obviously favor the QBs, but damn....

I don't agree that the rules, on the whole, favor the current offenses as much as some say. For instance, all the arm and hand grabbing that is allowed by DBs today would have been heavily flagged years ago.

I think the biggest difference is Jugs machine reps. Now we have 8 or 10 WRs on every team making extremely difficult catches - and make them look routine. In the old days, maybe one or two WRs could make those catches.

And now, WR are getting more reps in a season than they'd have gotten in a career in the old days (except for a few complete workout nuts)

yeah he's currently over 2% above Colt McCoy's record and he was 2.4% over 3rd place so McCoy's record was pretty crazy in and of itself. Now couple it with McCoy's record was throwing 8.9yds/att vs Burrow's 10.7 and it highlights just how crazy Burrow is this year. Unless something drastically changes he's having arguably the best season by a QB in NCAA history.
