Yeah I'm not for this forced diversity thing. For one a writer or team of writers shouldn't be forced to change their characters based the demands of a group.
On a larger note forcing things like this leads to terrible writing. Either many of the gay characters will be stereotypes or just feel unnatural.
Plenty of movies, shows, and games have very well written gay characters and it shows that when you don't force something the product has a far higher chance of coming out great.
A good example would be Ellie from The Last of Us. ND wasn't forced into making any of their characters gay but two of them are and nobody outside a few idiots who didn't play the DLC complained. That's because her character was well written and her being gay felt natural and not forced
