The committee was created to help keep legacy teams (Alabama, ND, USC, Oklahoma, Texas, Ohio St, Michigan, Penn St, etc) in if needed while bumping a possibly more deserving team out. They accomplish this by media blitzes and using phrases like “they pass the eye test”, and “most complete team”. They will over look facts that don’t fit their narrative and push inflated irrelevant stats if it helps their cause. The fact is that there will always be bias and the only way to limit the bias is doing a complete overhaul and going to a true playoff system, which we know will not happen. In the mean time expanding the playoff to 8 teams should help.
