I'm not sure about this.

I think people just don't know enough about EVs generally speaking for their sales to be super high.

But once EVs become more acceptable and more people are wanting them, you could argue this will eventually benefit Tesla as they obviously have the upper hand in all that goes with having an EV car.

You are completely ignoring several key facts here, the first being that Tesla is likely the most mismanaged company in existence, the second and far more important thing is there is not an insatiable global market for 100 grand plus cars and Tesla bleeds money on everything not a model S.

They will not survive despite being first to market due to Musk, brilliant inventor but a piss poor businessman.
