Good 20 will last him for quite a few years.
I was a giant kid so I had a 12. My friend shot a 20.
My dad just gave me an old Remington wingmaster 20g pump and it's so damn nice. Looks brand fricking new.
You can get a nice 20g for that price point. Shop used you can get a real nice one. He's going to try them.
Remember if it's cold and he's wearing a jacket it's going to shorten his pull. Hell have to bring the butt up and out to get to shoulder.
