Landon Donovan, Weston McKennie, Christian Pulisic, Michael Bradley, Jozy Altidore, and many others also say hello. College soccer should not be relied upon for anything. It had its place when there wasn't a development structure in place, but otherwise it's a massive waste of time for everyone involved.

It has a place as in not everyone will be picked up by a pro team when they're a teen. The college system fills in the cracks. The elite talent though should never go through the college route.

I don't think anyone is arguing that.

But college soccer can help guys that slipped through the cracks, late bloomers, etc. I think SEC schools adding men's teams could encourage greater participation from kids and have them stay in the game longer, broadening our pool.
