It had its place when there wasn't a development structure in place, but otherwise it's a massive waste of time for everyone involved.

It has a place as in not everyone will be picked up by a pro team when they're a teen. The college system fills in the cracks. The elite talent though should never go through the college route.

I don't think anyone is arguing that.
But college soccer can help guys that slipped through the cracks, late bloomers, etc. I think SEC schools adding men's teams could encourage greater participation from kids and have them stay in the game longer, broadening our pool.
