Oh it happened. It was enough of a story that they wrote a version of it into that season of LA Law as a case.
Belle deserves his own biopic for a decent amount of crazy shite he did over the years.
One of his nicknames was “Mr Freeze” because he would keep the locker room ice cold while he was in there. One day someone changed the temperature, so he went back, reset it, then smashed the control with his bat.

Belle in college chased the bus driver for state with a 2x4. Heard it all my life and during my short stint in college was telling the story a guy in the room said” that’s my dad”.
