It's not the addiction that hurts. It's when you start applying those standards to your own body (calling yourself ugly) or to potential partners (being repulsed by average people).

No. Honest answer, no BS. An addiction is something you can’t live without no matter what.
Take someone that thinks they are addicted to porn and put them in a remote location where they have to work to just survive. All of a sudden, porn is an after thought with 0 effect on their life.
Now take the same person addicted to alcohol, opioids, or something else.
