I bought a house that had 31 of them, and about 15 of them were over 25 years old. I've cut down about half of them.
I don't think there is a tree out there that does more havoc on a drainage system all year long than a Crepe Myrtle, or puts more shite into a swimming pool on daily basis.
Having one out by the road by your mailbox, cool.
Having one in the middle of your courtyard, living hell.
