In my experience dot distance to shooters eye makes no difference in speed of target acquisition.I find what slows people down is searching for the dot.

Remember: target focus, superimpose the dot on the target. It’s not a rifle scope. Don’t try to look through it.

I’d go picatinny in your case solely for resale value.
