No, it’s not. The OP is dead right. He’s not saying we should be moved down in the rankings because we could have lost. He’s saying that the team needs to channel the experience into a wakeup call, because we are vulnerable if we get cocky.
People have varied personality types. The OP (and Nick Saban, btw) are the type who react to success by getting cautious. You are (maybe) the type who reacts to success by getting euphoric. A guy like you looks at the OP and thinks, WTF, what a wuss. And the OP probably looks at your reaction and thinks, That knucklehead is heading for a fall.
