Does Jermaine Burton remind anyone else of OBJ?

Watching some Burton film and I have no idea how he isn’t a five star. He has elite yac ability, speed, strong hands and good route running. His combination of hands, speed, and explosiveness is very similar to a young Odell. Can’t wait to see him in purple and gold next year

To be fair he is like litterally a handful of spots from being a 5 star... In fact he is the #24 player in the country based on 247sports ranking, how that's not a 5 star... Idk... (He is a 97 overall, 247 only rates 98 overall or higher as 5*)

Yes, his athletic ability/ measurables are almost exactly like OBJ, definitely 5 star numbers. 24 ranking will get him there probably on later updates if they stick to the top 32 rule, but might not make it on the composite. He’s still one of the top athletes in the country

It’s crazy how identical his short shuttle and 40 times is to Odell’s combine. As long as 247 has him a 5 star that’s good enough for me imo their the best recruiting site

If I recall correctly, OBJ was a 4-star and rated lower than his counterpart at WR...

Odell's ranking coming out of high school was lower because he was at a small school, he was a late bloomer physically, and played other sports at Newman. Jarvis Landry was the star recruit of that signing class.

He is about as close to an OBJ clone as you will find.
Size and combine numbers very similar, but they are similar in their athleticism and how fluid they are.

Agreed and this WR class is loaded with talent but Burton’s combination of athleticism, polish and fluidity is just different than any receiver I’ve seen out of HS since Jerry Jeudy

Agreed he’s going to make an impact in college right away his combination of explosiveness, long speed and hands is special. My bold take is assuming after this year Jefferson goes to the NFL I think Burtain will won the WR#3 job

And many, including myself thought he was a better CB prospect. He jumped up after the all Star game I believe.
