Hard for me to judge as I don't know what y'all are all paying for. For example, Botswana is generally more expensive than Sabi for safari, but within both of those areas your options run the gamut of simple to ultra luxe.
I know I didn't pay near 9k per person but I can't compare apples to oranges and number of days.

If I had the choice to cut out one location and make it a 10 day instead of 14 I would. Probably save 1500~ per person or so.
