I mean take for instance Alabama. The university itself and auburn are leaving LSU behind not just in athletics.

The state has attracted Mercedes Toyota Honda hyundai
Airbus
Uabs hospital/research blows anything from Louisiana out of the water
Regions and bbva Compass are headquartered in Alabama
Huntsville is a major center for nasa


Louisiana is barely hanging on to its largest headquartered company in centurylink


I love Louisiana and will probably be back someday but everywhere other than Mississippi is leaving it behind unfortunately. I will ignore that because it’s home but it is what it is.
