Does the Texas superiority at the Head Coach position make up for the lack of returning starters? That is the question.

I wouldn't say Herman is necessarily a superior head coach. He really hasn't proven himself at this level to the degree many people think. Upset losses to Maryland (2 years in a row), OSU, and W. Virginia. They barely squeaked by Baylor, Kansas, and Kansas State last year. Sure they beat Georgia. I will give them that, but so did LSU in a much more significant way.

I live in Austin and there are still quite a few Texas fans who are still not sold on him. Certainly looking up over Charlie Strong, but this idea that he is the next Saban, Dabo, or Meyer is unfounded. He's not even in the same ballpark. Maybe he will be, maybe not, time will tell. As far as the game this week, It will be a good game. The horns are no slouch. THey have a great QB in Ehlinger, but let's see how he does against real DBs.
