Planning a trip there for the Auburn game in Sept. We will be making some stops along the way to fish some of the rivers I've always heard about before getting to Fayetteville on Thursday night. What are the can't miss restaurants and bars for us to visit Friday and Saturday? Any game day things that we would need to see? Possible tailgate areas we would need to tour?
1) Hugo's is the iconic restaurant where everyone eats. Expected to wait, though.
2) Everyone is into Cheers on the square now, as its taken over an unused space that needed to be utilized. It's okay. Not that great.
3) Wright's BBQ is seriously awesome. Set up similar to Franklin's with a yard and picnic tables. If you can't sit outside, then it can be pretty tough as inside seating is limited.
4) Sauc'D BBQ on Dickson is also good. Not as good as Wright's, but good.
5) Woodstone is excellent, as mentioned.
6) JBGB is a fun place with lawn games and such. Once again, fun when weather is good.
7) Leverett Lounge if you're into slightly more high end, but not fancy. Same people who own Maxine's.
8) Maxine's is insane, but excellent for cocktails. We used to hang out there a lot more before the college crowd discovered it. Still a great place to get a drink
9) Crisis Brewery is excellent if you're into beer. Columbus House and Fossil Cove are also fun places to hang, but their beer isn't as good as Crisis.
10) Arsaga's at the Depot is probably my personal favorite cuisine in town. They're opening a new restaurant next to Woodstone on South School. Not sure if it will be open by the Fall, though.
I stuck to Fayetteville for the most part. If you go up to Bentonville, it opens up a ton of options.
