For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
And then Paul cites a specific example of wickedness committed by specific people at a specific time. It’s very important why he picked this specific time to tell these specific people about this specific instance of these specific people committing this specific series of wicked acts.

People have misinterpreted it as meaning that God condemns homosexuality because that makes them comfortable.

People have never changed!

The same types of people are still here today and will be until the end. Only the names and faces have changed.

Look at how often Jesus criticized the priests for their unrighteousness, piety, and lack of love. It should be no surprise that those same types of people are priests today. No scripture is for a set group of people that do not exist today.

Ask me more I'll tell you.

God consistently condemns homosexuality throughout the Bible and there is not one passage of scripture from Genesis to Revelation that's speaks of homosexuality as a positive thing.
Therefore, it's not a mystery how God feels about the subject, nor was Paul coming up with some new teachings.
