For instance, if you have a high school diploma and enter as a reserve enlisted recruit, basic training is held at Cape May, N.J. This intense eight-week program is designed to acclimate you to a military environment of rules, regulations and accountability.
In other instances, if you have prior service or professional experience, you might attend our Direct Entry Petty Officer Training Course (DEPOT). This three-week course is also at Cape May, N.J.
Sounds pretty sweet at first glance. What kind of background do you have that qualifies for this? My other thoughts are
1 its probably pretty intense to Try to cram all that into 3 weeks. I wonder what they're leaving out.
2 when is your MOS training or whatever they call it in the CG?
3 I wonder if there's lack of respect by peers and subordinates for those who do it the "easy" way. Especially since you're going in as an NCO.
