Yes they could. The sec hate is real. The narrative of 9 straight losses vs bama would take root. The Oklahoma AD & UF AD that’s on the committee would push the agenda that LSU can’t beat Bama so no point in seeing them play again. Because if there was a chance that LSU made the final 4 they would make sure we saw bama in the semis to avoid another all Sec title game imo. I’m not saying there’s no chance but imo it’s very small.

I’m an LSU fan. Bama is an obstacle for an SEC title not a national championship. Getting blown out again wouldn’t look good, but you can lose a close one and its not an end all. Maybe emotionally at first for LSU fans but we would quickly feel better if they ended up in the CFP with a loss to bama. I don’t see how any sane person would be too upset if they made the CFP but lost to bama.
