The second time I took my son crappie fishing.
The first time we couldn't find them and were skunked. He was miserable and bitched and I could barely drag him with me the second time.
We got on a brush pile that was stacked early in the morning. We started hammering them and I mean nice fat slabs every cast. You could have thrown a bare hook out there and as soon as it hit the water, you had a slab on.
I stopped fishing after my 10th or so fish and just watched him fill up the ice chest in about 45 minutes.
He was fricking giddy, having a blast.
One of my best days ever on the water or not.
